Robinson Global Logistics: Total solutions in dry and cool logistics

Robinsons Global Logistics (RGL) was launched by Rhea Vazirani. Bachelors in Business and Finance from Business School Lausanne University, Switzerland and a Masters of Science in Supply Chain Management from Institute for Supply Chain Excellence - Bordeaux, France, Vazirani has put in almost a decade in freight forwarding, logistics, warehouse management, handling sales & marketing, planning & strategy and customer service.

Two years ago she leased out her first warehouse in Bhiwandi, near Mumbai and identified the needs of customers who were looking for a one stop solution provider with regards to warehousing and distribution needs. Thus in 2007, she started RGL as a 'Total Solution Provider in Dry & Cool Logistics' with the vision to become the preferred logistics company to the customers in the Indian subcontinent across verticals, in providing end-to-end dry and cool logistic services. According to Vazirani, RGL’s USP is the bandwidth to operate and manage specialised storage of products across various sectors, meeting all the regulatory, operational and security requirements of the customers.

Vazirani emphasises the requirements of logistics and significance of warehousing industry and has carved a niche. Then onwards RGL moved forward – from shipping, to bar-coding, tagging, to transport specific quantities and numbers to specific retail outlets.

From a single warehouse in 2008 to four today in Mumbai, Gurgaon, Pune and Bengaluru, RGL boasts of an annual turnover of goods worth Rs.800 crore from its warehouses.

Vazirani observes that organised retail industry will have little option but to outsource almost all its back end operations – from packing to making goods outlet-ready to transporting the exact requirement to each store spread all across the country. The engineering and manufacturing sector too might soon start outsourcing its inventory management to warehousing and logistics firms.

Earlier, Vazirani worked with Geodis Solutions, which is a leading European logistics company with an international network in 120 countries.
