If you love water, racing and sunshine, check out the 2008 Macau International Dragon Boat Races on Nam Van Lake on the first day of June. If buildings, plazas and fortresses are more to your taste, sign up for the Historical Centre of Macau Guided Tour Service on China Cultural Heritage Day. Or visit a special Arts & Crafts Demonstration in Lou Kau Mansion.

Meanwhile, concert-lovers will not want to miss the Royal Swedish Ballet performing Tchaikovsky's immortal "Swan Lake" with Macau Orchestra. Chris Botti goes Italian for his acclaimed show "A Date with Jazz", while Air Supply and Hacken Lee return to these shores with brand new acts.

"Scent of Lotus Perfumes the City of Macau - 8th Macau Lotus Flower Festival" - themed around the "Huoju" flower because of its Olympic torch shape - celebrates the upcoming Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, while history buffs and poets will want to experience Portugal Day, Camoes Day and Portuguese Communities Day in Camoes Garden, a sanctuary of serenity in the heart of the city.
