Turkish Airlines starts daily operations from Delhi and Mumbai
Turkish Airlines announced its expansion plans of
increasing the frequency of flights to daily operations from New Delhi and
Mumbai to Istanbul and other parts of Europe. As a part of this strategy,
Turkish Airlines has deployed A-330s to tap the growing demand of this
sector. One of the major goals of Turkish Airlines is to act as a bridge
between the Asian and European markets through its Istanbul hub. The
airlines will provide state-of the-art in-flight services to its 3,500
seats per week from Delhi and Mumbai.

JetLite joins IATA Operational Safety Audit registry
JetLite now joins a pool of "IOSA" registered
airlines like Jet Airways - India’s premier international airline - which
has been registered by the IATA IOSA programme. This registration confirms
JetLite’s commitment to achieving a safety level which is recognised and
compliant with stringent international standards. IOSA registration is a
condition of International Air Transport Association (IATA) membership and
is recognised as a benchmark of airline safety and quality. At present,
274 airlines have entered the IOSA registry. With the implementation and
international acceptance of IOSA, JetLite is in a position to achieve the
benefits of cost-efficiency through a significant reduction in audit
redundancy.

Philippine Airlines appoints Stic Travels as its GSA
Stic Travels has recently been appointed as General Sales Agent (GSA) for
Philippine Airlines (PAL) in India. This move is being considered as a
positive step towards strengthening the growing relationship between the
Philippines and India. This appointment is a positive sign that PAL may

Fly Mumbai-Nashik on Kingfisher for Rs. 883
Kingfisher Airlines is offering an all inclusive fare starting from Rs.
885 for travel from Nashik to Mumbai and Rs. 883 for travel from Mumbai to
Nashik. Guests can now avail these ‘value fares’ by planning their travel
in advance. The flights between Mumbai and Nashik are operated by
Kingfisher Red Service using an ATR aircraft. The Kingfisher Airlines’
flight leaves Mumbai airport at 0550 am and arrives at Nashik at 0640 am.
The return flight leaves Nashik at 0430pm and arrives at Mumbai at 0520pm.

Air India Express to fly
Srinagar-Dubai from February 14, 2009
Air India Express will launch once a week flight to Dubai
from Srinagar with this new aircraft with effect from February 14, 2009.
This will mark the commencement of international flights from the new
Srinagar International Airport Terminal. Air India Express is also
planning to increase frequency on Chennai-Trichy-Dubai route from three
flights a week to seven flights a week and the existing flights on
Chennai-Hyderabad-Dubai route from three to four flights a week. Air India
Express will also increase frequency from three to six flights a week on
Trichy-Kuala Lumpur sector. Air India Express recently inducted another
B737-800 aircraft thus increasing its fleet size to 21, including seven
leased ones. The new aircraft has ‘Shikara on Dal Lake in Kashmir’ on one
side of the tail and an ‘image of a large expanse of Rajasthan Desert’ on
the other. The tail designs are an innovative feature of Air India Express
fleet. Each aircraft showcases picturesque landscapes, monuments, animals,
handicrafts and dances of India.

Post the Duet Group’s acquisition of Dawnay
Day Hotels’ India operation, Duet has now also ventured into management
sphere with the launch of Ten Hotels, a hotel management company, in
India. Duet Group through Duet India Hotels has created significant
interest in Indian hospitality market lately. According to Mandip Singh
Lamba, managing director, Ten Hotels, who has 25 per cent share in the new
company, “Ten Hotels is a plain vanilla hotel management company. We are
keen to develop ‘Ten’ as a powerful hotel brand that will largely focus on
four star business hotels and will also look at possible contracts without
‘Ten’ brands.” Duet India hotels owns 70 per cent share of the new company
while the remaining five per cent is shared amongst company’s top

Volvo Buses India's new model offers eight more seats
Volvo Buses has introduced a new model in
India: Volvo B9R 9400 6x2 Multi-axle. To begin with, this new platform
will focus on the long distance and high occupancy routes. This is a first
in India. Volvo B9R 9400 6x2 offers additional seats (eight more when
comparing to standard layouts) and a new engine from the Volvo stable.
This means more revenue opportunities for customers and greater comfort
levels for passengers over the long distance. The Volvo B9R 9400 6x2, is
loaded with safety features, such as, electronic brake system, electronic
air suspension, ABS, FUPS among other typical features. Together with new

Arzoo.com has introduced a new incentive
scheme for its PSAs (Preferred Sales Agents). Through this scheme
Arzoo.com will give an additional benefit of one – two per cent incentive
