flydubai to fly thrice a week to Hyderabad from June 12 with HYD-DXB one-way
fare of INR 8,000
flydubai inaugurated its second
major Indian route with operations starting from Dubai to Hyderabad from
June 12. This is flydubai’s second destination to India after Lucknow.
Scheduled to fly on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, a one-way fare from
Hyderabad to Dubai starts from INR 8,000 inclusive of 7 Kg hand baggage.
Checked baggage starts at INR 650 for 20kgs and a seat with extra legroom
costs INR 1,250. The one-way fare from Dubai to Hyderabad starts from AED585,
and includes one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 7kg and one small
laptop bag or hand bag.

IndiGo to fly international from September 1
Low Cost Carrier IndiGo has
announced that it will operate its maiden international flight on September
01, 2011 connecting New Delhi with Dubai following which, it will commence
operation on Delhi-Bangkok-Delhi and Delhi-Singapore-Delhi routes in the
same month. It will subsequently connect Mumbai with Dubai and Bangkok with
daily flights effective October 02, 2011. The airline has announced
inaugural promotional return fare of Rs 9,999 (all inclusive) on all its
international routes. It has already received the traffic rights to fly to
these destinations from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Fly to Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok@Rs 9,999 with IndiGo’s inaugural
return-fare offer
IndiGo will commence direct flights
to Bangkok, Dubai and Singapore with a special inaugural fare of Rs 9,999
from Delhi and Mumbai. According to Indian regulations, a carrier must be
operational for five years before it can operate international services.
India has granted traffic rights to IndiGo to fly international.

Air India launched a short term
promotion scheme – ‘Silver and Platinum Pass’, for passengers in its
domestic network. The Silver and Platinum Pass, which will be valid for ten
days, is being offered in 2 variants for unlimited travel in economy and
executive class on the domestic sectors of the national carrier.
Passengers buying the “Silver Pass” can fly on economy class to any domestic
sector of their choice at an attractive fare of Rs 30,000 while passengers
who purchase the “Platinum Pass” can travel in executive class to any
domestic destination at a fare of Rs 50,000. This fare is inclusive of taxes.

With ‘Vision 2020’, Go Air has
ordered for 72 A320neos worth USD 7 million. The aircraft will be
delivered over the course of 5 to 7 years. Currently the carrier operates 10
A320s and is expecting a delivery of 10 more in the next 18 months.

Vayalar Ravi, Civil Aviation Minister, calls for joint pooling of resources
by Asia-Pacific countries to check terrorism in Air Transport System
Union Civil Aviation Minister,
Vayalar Ravi has underlined the need of joint pooling of resources by the
countries of Asia-Pacific Region, to develop a formidable wall of protection
against terrorism and unlawful interference in Air transport system. He was
speaking at the inauguration of the 8th Steering Committee Meeting (SCM) of
Cooperative Aviation Security Programme-Asia Pacific (CASP-AP) I Delhi on
June 14. The meeting was attended by 24 member countries from the
Asia-Pacific region and observers like ICAO and IATA.
The CASP seeks to achieve compliance amongst participating States and
administrations with the standards and recommended practices detailed in
Annex 17 and the security provisions of Annex 9 of the Chicago Convention
(1944), with other international conventions and with the guidance material
provided by ICAO. It also aims to create, a regional structure for
cooperation and coordination of civil aviation security and for the training
of aviation security personnel.
