November
Mayfair Hotels and Resorts is all set to
launch a new property Mayfair Convention, Bhuvaneshwar. The hotel
will have one of the east India’s largest convention centres, offering
state-of-the-art convention facility. The 20-key unit has two large
convention halls, Crystal and Central with seating capacity of 600
and 1100 respectively, a meeting room to accommodate 18 people and a board

Ole Sereni at Nairobi
After witnessing one of its fastest

its overseas portfolio. It recently announced the opening of its second
property in the African continent. Ole Sereni in Nairobi, a five-star

MoT launches extensive overseas marketing campaign from October
29
Ministry of Tourism (MOT) has launched
one of the most extensive overseas marketing campaigns, which started with
Queens Baton Relay on October 29 in London. Elaborating on the
campaign strategy, Sujit Banerjee, secretary, Ministry of Tourism, said that
the extensive overseas marketing campaign will foray into over nine
strategic source markets. The campaign will reach Glasgow on November 30,
Narobi on December 27, Johannesburg on January 10, Toronto on April 14,
Melbourne on April 20, Auckland on May 17, Singapore on June 7, and Kuala
Lumpur on June 12, among many other strategic source markets.

Travel sector in India has weathered slowdown
well
The last one year has been the worst
nightmare for travel industry across the globe. India has weathered all the
odds with striking resilience. The foreign tourist arrivals (FTA) in India
recovered from the lows of January–March period. The aggregate fall in the
FTA at (-) 7.9 per cent is now close to the global decline average of (-)
7.4 per cent for January-July, which can be converted into impressive
figures with the help of bold measures.
