AIRLINES According to the audit of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States of America, India is fully compliant with the international safety standards. FAA conducts audit of the concerned country’s civil aviation authority like DGCA in India to ensure its capability for providing safety certification and continuing oversight on its international carriers. In 1997, FAA had conducted an audit of DGCA and awarded Category 1 status to India. FAA raised concerns over some issues and gave DGCA 5 months’ time to take remedial measures.
