Benzy Holidays gets passenger GSA of Ethiopian Airlines
 
After getting GSA for Sama Airlines, Benzy Holidays has been successful in securing passenger GSA of Ethiopian Airlines for Gujarat effective September 2009. This GSA agreement is valid for three years. Ethiopian Airlines assigned Benzy Holidays, part of Akbar Travels, as a GSA to tap the Gujarat market. Iqbal Mody, executive director of Benzy Holidays stated that they wish to promote more destinations through Ethiopian Airlines, like South Africa, Zimbabwe, Nigeria etc. Their target travellers are the visiting friends and relatives (VFR) traffic from Gujarat.

China Southern Airlines to commence fourth service between Delhi and Guangzhou from October 25
 
In line with the long-term business expansion programme, which is centred around Delhi, Mumbai and other major Indian cities for daily operations, the China Southern Airlines is launching its fourth service between Delhi and Guangzhou every Tuesday starting October 25. Currently, it operates three times a week non-stop service between Delhi and Guangzhou on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. To weather the current global financial challenges such as increase in crude oil prices, declining demands and intense competition, China Southern Airlines has taken a decision in line with the market dynamics of demand and supply, which helped the group to forge ahead.

Louis Cruises India launches its operations in India with Kochi as its homeport
 
Louis Cruises India has recently launched its operations in India with Kochi as its homeport. Its launch forms part of its strategy for further expanding its international operations by entering new markets. The company aims to introduce the benefits and beauties of cruising in comfort and style to some of the region’s most enticing destinations. Louis Cruises India will operate three-day and one-day cruises out of the port of Kochi from December 2009 to May 2010 on board MV ‘Aquamarine’, a luxury cruise ship with a carrying capacity of 1,200 passengers and all the comforts and amenities to cater to the needs and hospitality of the Indian passengers. MV “Aquamarine” will offer itineraries on the Kochi – Maldives – Kochi route and the Kochi – Colombo – Kochi route, in addition to a one-night high sea sailing itinerary.

Shaw Hospitality bags 15 hotels, managing over 1,000 rooms in 6 month
 
Shaw Hospitality, a hotel management company which started its operations this financial year, has managed to bag 15 hotels (4 hotels in Dubai and 11 hotels across India) in the first six months of its operations. “As of now, we are managing and marketing more than 1,050 rooms, of which 602 rooms are in four states viz Maharashtra (7 hotels), Gujarat (2 hotels) and one each in Andhra Pradesh and Delhi. The remaining 462 rooms are in Dubai,” informed Ranjan Gupta, CEO, Shaw Hospitality. The four hotels in Dubai are Marco Polo Hotel, Dubai-126 rooms, Savoy Park, Dubai – 126 rooms, Savoy Crest, Dubai -98 rooms and Savoy Suites, Dubai-112 rooms.

MOT hosts Incredible India events in Russia, to celebrate 'Year of India in Russia'
 
The Ministry of Tourism (MOT), Government of India, in association with the Indian Mission in Russia and Experience India Society, is organising Incredible India events in Russia from September 22-27, 2009 as part of celebration of the “Year of India in Russia”. The primary objective of the Incredible India events is to showcase the tourism potential of India and to place India as a favoured destination among the Russians.

The MOT is also participating in the Otdykh Leisure Show 2009 in Moscow by putting up an India Pavilion covering an area of 100 sq m, which was inaugurated by Sanjay Kothari, additional secretary –tourism, in the presence of travel partners from India on 22 September.

Sanya Tourism Board, representing Sanya city, located in Hainan Province in China recently conducted roadshows in three cities (Delhi – September 21, Mumbai - September 23 and Bengaluru – September 24) in India.
